Spectralink Provides More Safety with LoneWorker Safety Mode
Spectralink has released a new DECT software update. This release includes important improvements for the Lone Worker Safety Mode and energy efficiency.
Meets Lone Worker Safety Standards with BGR-139
Previously, users were not adequately warned when their handset lost connection with the IP-DECT Server. This issue has been resolved with both visual and audio alerts. The handset will now cyclically flash a red LED light with a warning message and emit an audio warning until the connection is restored or manually acknowledged by the user.
This improvement has also been made available for the installed 7642 devices to comply with the latest BGR-139 German certification.
Enhanced Worker Safety with BLE iBeacon Interoperability
To improve worker safety, we have added support for iBeacon detection (provided by third parties) when the alarm button is pressed.
S35 and S37 handsets now store a continuous list of the strongest iBeacon signals and transmit the last known strongest iBeacon ID when an alarm is triggered. This data is sent via the IP-DECT Server XML-RPC API to the Spectralink Mobile Application Partner (MAP) platform, enabling a faster and more accurate response to emergencies.
Longer Talk and Standby Time with Backlight Adjustments
To optimize power consumption and extend talk and standby time, the default backlight delay has been adjusted. The default setting has been changed from level 8 (30 sec) to level 5 (7 sec) to extend battery life.
This update only becomes active after a factory reset (99940). Users experiencing shorter battery life can manually adjust the delay via the handset menu: Settings > Handset > Backlight > Delay.
